OrdieJ Posted October 24, 2009 Author #26 Share Posted October 24, 2009 Every one has to take one of these pix in the Caymans Now after eating we went to go get Bries bracelet charms and it started pouring rain on us. Didnt get any pix because we were to busy running from place to place. It stopped raining when we got back to the pier. Were on a tender going back, that long line is for another Carnival ship. OrdieJ Posted October 24, 2009 Author #30 Share Posted October 24, 2009 After Paradise Beach the ladies went shopping and Don and I went to Ponchos for some more food and margaritas. Can you see how burnt I am 4th towel animal of the cruise So it was dinner time, so we headed to the dining room. Well this storm came out of nowhere. It was sunny all day long. As we were pulling out of the pier we came across 50+ knot winds and we started to drift towards the Enchantment of the Seas. Our dining room table was on the portside and we had a window. I didnt even notice the other ship because I was watching us get closer and closer to the other dock. Well we hit the dock (and the other ship). I didnt even feel it, but I did hear glass breaking and metal scraping. Then we starting pulling away from the dock and forward. The other ship comes into view with a bunch of Carnival red on her side. I couldnt believe that had happened. Brie tells me "That was from us", I told her no way that had to be there before. So Allen our awesome waiter comes up and tells us yeah we hit really calmly and asks us if were ok. The crew was really calm and did not panick at all. I headed up to the lido deck to get a few snap shots. (My camera was dead so I had to use Brie's camera and she has all the good pix) So up on the lido deck the crew was still calm, and the cd did an awesome job of keeping everyone else calm. We finally pulled away and had to wait about an hour to an hour and half for the port authorities to come out and inspect the damage to clear us to leave. (What kind of camera were you using? I want a new one before our Feb. 7 cruise on the Legend.) I'm using a Canon Power shot sd750. One of my buddies dropped and it hasnt been taking good pictures like it used too. Thats why some of the pix are kinda crappy.
