Belize May 5th

I'm going to be in belize on May 5th, Cinco de Mayo. Has anyone ever been in Belize during this time? Normaly we just go to Banister Island but this year we're thinking about spending time in port at the port bars if they put on a good celibration. Any suggestions?

Not to say that there won't be any bars co-opting this day, you do know that Belize is not part of Mexico and so doesn't celebrate Mexican Holidays. We celebrate it more in the US than even many Mexican cities. I think it is the Hallmark effect.
