cruisingnana Posted October 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2009 We have been notified by Carnival to allow extra time to get to terminal due to the Bike Rally in Galveston this weekend. Does anyone know how bad the congestion will be at around 9:30 or 10:00 AM. We have reserved parking at EZ Cruise Parking and are wondering about streets being blocked off, etc. TIA
Jeano222 Posted October 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Not sure how bad it will be but expect it to be a nightmare. Several events will be taking place between 10-12 at Pier 21. Add that to passengers trying to get off ship and traffic from people getting on ship, and we can only imagine.... I think at EZ parking they won't let you in until passengers coming off ship pick up their vehicles, at least that is what we found last time. I think I would rather drive into Galveston very early in the morning and hang out in Galveston rather than going later and be in a parking lot on 45. ssb Posted October 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Early should not be that bad. Just give yourself extra time. The parking areas for cruising and terminals are situated BEFORE the biker area. :D Come over bridge and get off at Harborside and follow to cruise parking lots. Park car, check bags and for a little fun walk to two areas that at close. Within two blocks of terminal! The biker areas are in three areas....... just past the cruise terminals(close), on the Strand(close) and on Seawall.
