Foodie advice - Cannes

My husband and I are sailing into Cannes on the Celebrity Century next month. We'd like to have a long delicious lunch (not necessarily expensive, although we love food so we're willing to splurge a bit if we have to), take a stroll, and maybe do some foodie shopping for goodies to take home. We have been searching, but since we will be there on a Sunday, we've been having some trouble finding out what's open. Any recommendations would be much appreciated - we're willing to take public transit to another village if necessary.
