goldwingers Posted October 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2009 I read somewhere that the new megaliner was to be in Ft Lauderdale on Wed. Nov. 11 for the first time. We are scheduled to depart on the Noordam that day and being in the middle of the week I had assumed there would be little traffic since we were to be the only ship there that day. I have looked everywhere including the port's own web site but have not found any info - does anyone know if there is to be a big celebration or ceremony or something when the ship arrives? I think it will be very exciting to be one of the first to lay eyes on such a huge ship, but wonder if we should allow extra time for getting to our own embarkation. I can't imagine that they wouldn't make a big deal about it, even if it was only the local news! I certainly will enjoy seeing it as we sail away, I love seeing all the different ships and this one will be one for the record books!
