robertsw15 Posted November 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2009 I'm currently on Viking Legend and thought I'd pass on a few observations. Food can be hit or miss, but at least at dinner you can order a steak – and they know how to cook that. But it can easily take 30 minutes for the first course to arrive, and dinner can take two hours. Some of the docking choices are bizarre – at Wurzburg we had to walk through a recycling depot to get to the bus. We were late getting to Nuremburg, so at 3pm were offloaded at Erlangen – where we found a crotch high metal barrier at the end of the gangway. Many people were unable to climb over it and missed out. Then those of us who paid for the World War 2 tour were unhappy as we only had 45 minutes to see the Documentation Centre before it closed. We then saw some of the town in the dark before Marin insisted we drive to meet the ship, so we didn't see the old town or have any free time to walk around. But when we got to the dock – not in the centre of town, the ship hadn't arrived. We had to wait 30 minutes on the bus for it to dock. Yesterday at Regensburg we again found ourselves at the end of a long line of cruisers and had a long walk in the cold and pouring rain into town. Many gave up.
