Piano Lounge question

Isn't he fantastic? We saw him on the Diamond Princess this last September for our short cruise from Seattle to Vancouver. Closed the lounge with him and had so much fun. I'm hoping he will be on some of my cruises this year also. Went to his web site and it doesn't show much at this time. It is just showing this:

On the Caribbean Princess through April 1

Vacation times

April 16-30

August 13-27

December 3-17

It doesn't show where he is going after the Caribbean P., so I would suggest going to his web site and then clicking on the link for his cruise ship schedule. Hopefully it will be updated before too long as to what ship he will be on next.

Hope he is back on the Diamond P. for Alaska.

Hi!

I agree--Bert is the best!!! My husband and I have seen him 3 times in the past and are booked on the Caribbean Princess next month so that we can see him again. He isn't doing Alaska this summer and is planning to be on the Caribbean Princess until April 2006. Go to http://www.bertstratton.com and you can check his complete schedule including the weeks that he will be on vacation. Also, you can go to the site of his fan club atwww.bertstrattonfans.com. He is amazingly talented and adds a lot of enjoyment to any cruise.

Sorry I said April 1, 2005. When I looked at the dates it says 2006, but I read 2005 and wasn't very helpful. Now I'm disappointed that he is staying on that ship for so long since we don't have plans to sail on it during that time. Hopefully another time we will cross paths with him.

I bought his CD on the Diamond Princess last September. He is so good and we had such a fun time that night.

Thanks Doug for the information on Eric Stone. Will look for him also.

Hulagirl: I'm used to that look and have grown immune to it! If you love cruising and you love a great piano bar, go for it! I'd book a cruise just to see Bert! I once booked a cruise just to see Micky Dolenz! LOL! You see, I know that look!

Hi!

I totally agree. We are booked on the Caribbean Princess next month because Bert will be entertaining. My friends think we are crazy to pick a ship because of a particular entertainer, but Bert adds a level of enjoyment that exceeds that on other ships. This will be our 31st cruise (4th on which Bert will be at the piano bar), and the cruise is just more fun with Bert. While we go on other ships in the summer to various destinations, when it comes to a winter cruise in the Caribbean, we go where Bert is.

Hi Marly,

The only problem with a cruise that has a lot of Bert's fans is that you and I wouldn't always be able to get good seats!!! As least for the first night or two, not too many people know about Bert so it is easy to get a good seat!!!

Reggie: I never got to sit in the lounge on the last cruise I was on! I did stake out a great standing room spot in front of the piano near the rail by the post! My feet hurt a little, but he was worth the blisters :)

You are not nuts and I agree that sailing just to see Bert would be something I would do in a flash. Out only problem is daughter and school timing. I may just have to look into a winter thing on the Caribbean Princess.

Now, I would book a cruise to Mickey Dolenz in a heartbeat. I never missed the Monkey's show on TV during the 60's. Now to watch it, it seems pretty sad because it truly was bad, but I loved it. There are several singers that if they were on a ship I would book quickly.

When my friend and I were on the Diamond in September we really stumbled on Bert by accident. We had dinner, gone to the show and then the casino. Had a coupon for a buy one get one free martini. So off we headed for Crooners. Well one minute of Bert was all it took and we were hooked. Luckily we got a table near the back which was better than nothing. He took a break and I headed up to get his CD. Couldn't believe it when these people who had a table up front left. I motioned to her to come on up, and we had the table for the rest of the evening. He was so funny with the gay waiter there. That guy was so cute and he could really get into shaking the martini shaker to the music. He was a big part of the show and we loved it. Now had our husbands been with us we probably wouldn't have closed Crooners with them, but for us it was the absolute best way to end a cruise.

Hulagirl: So happy to meet a fellow Monkees fan! Bert was taking requests and I requested Daydream Believer. He did a great job with it, and later we talked a little about the Monkees and how good some of their songs were and how people like Neil Diamond and Carol King wrote their songs.

I tried to watch all or some part of Bert's shows each night. Most of the time my husband would leave me standing there, perfectly content to be singing along, and wander around the ship -- LOL. The piano bar is always one of my favorite parts of a cruise and once I'm there, it's hard to drag me away.
