Jane Russell on the Queen Mary II

On our July 2004 TA we were in the Planetarium when who should come and sit next to us but Oscar-winning film director Lord Puttnam, of Chariots of Fire fame.

My husband and kids had already found themselves in the lift with him, and done the usual slow-motion run away when they got out (I bet he's fed up of that by now :)).

Anyway, he was on board as a lecturer, but was very boring unfortunately!

Where'd you find that old rag for your avatar?

I thought it rather spiffy, I went all nostalgic when I saw it. Anyway it was time the old cap'n had some time off he's been on watch for 18 months now. That's nearly as long as a Bank Line trip.

Ah yes, the old Bank Line "World Cruise". I think they may have stopped the sailings from Hull now - I must check.
