We will leave for our excursion around 9 and we are told it takes about 5.5 hours roundtrip...what is there to do why we are waiting to board the boat again? This will be our first cruise so any additional info regarding ports/excursions and getting to and from would be helpful! Thanks!

Not sure of exact logisitcs, but this is our past expeience with tours.

Belize is not deep enough to dock so will always tender, the tender is 20min roughly, so not an option to go back after tour-so #1 that is out.

#2-tours most meet in certain location and tender as group off ship. In some cases certain tours do not tender to same location as others so make sure meet with tour group for start of tour (not after tour-then can take any tender back to Your ship.- there are multiple lines so make sure in line for your ship

#3- after tour the port is fenced in with about 4 terminals (strip buildings)with rows of shopping stalls. It is good reason they are fenced in too. We love the people of Belize and country but there are tours through ship for good reason- they are far from port and it is a whole different side of Belize and what country is really like. Many reputable private tour guides, but of all countries we have vsited likely only one we feel best to take a ship sponsored excursion.

So after tour have fun shopping -the usual Mexican fare of souveniers, jewelry, silver jewlery,clothing,t-shirts,wooden jewlery boxes, puzzle boxes, alcholo etc. We also found some "knock off t-shirts,beltt/belt buckles and some purses here.

Be sure to allow enough time for tendering time. And general rule -"YOU are ALWAYS on ship clock time" unless ships says otherwise.
