Good question as to why color them at all other than to make it easier for the crew to know what deck and approx. location they should be when they off load a pile of luggage at a time.

 

 

Then I guess that would be the purpose, a.k.a. "significance", meaning they do, in fact, color them for a reason.

 

And as I have other things to do than be the Post Police, and have not appointed myself overseer of all threads and judge and jury to their validity or whether or not they are "necessary", I don't read every single thread on the board (other than the titles), so I had no reason to open the thread that was started earlier to know about the "stir/fuss" (therefore I am assuming no one was injured and everyone survived the debate).
