Is this a nice hotel (not fancy, just clean!)? What's it close to? Any other info would be appreciated :).

We've stayed at the Commodore before, but the last time wasn't such a great stay :(.

Thanks!

Oops! Forgot to say we'll be cruising for the next couple of weeks, but would still appreciate any info you can give. Will answer when we get back :) !

It is about four years old.

Should still be nice

Shouldn't be wore out yet?

Not as much around there as other areas.

Island is small as you know.

Just take a taxi.

If it does not come up go to galveston.com then go to interact and discover and then to maps

My family has stayed in this hotel four times. The last time was in July of this year. The previous times were great. This time the rooms looked clean but there was a VERY strong musty smell. The flooring in the elevator from the garage was coming up and the area was not clean.

We have stayed there previously (pre hurricane). We now book and stay at the Baymont Inn. We have also stayed at the Baymont pre-hurricane. Our trip in February will be our first back to the Baymont post-hurricane.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for the info, everyone :)! We had a great cruise and are looking forward to our next one from Galveston.

Great Galveston map at Galveston.com! I'll also check out the Baymont.

Thanks again :).
