**If I ran Carnival Cruise Lines, I would...**

Having an optional "all liquor inclusive" wrist band option would be something I would consider. I know I may pay more with this option, but then I can budget for the expense leading up to the cruise. One of the reasons land based all inclusive resorts are so popular is knowing most of your expenses up front...IMHO:)

1. the picture thing is P.I.T.A!! I try not to get them taken often because I dont care to fight the masses to hunt them down. When I refuse a picture I hate the look I get. If finding them or ordering on line would be a option I would prob get more taken and the chance I would buy would be increased as well.

2. I would do something about drink prices. I think they are all to much. I would prob buy a soda card but I dont drink Coke so bringing my own on is my only option therefor not spending any money on soda. Maybe they should go to fountain pop it cost very little to provide that vs cans. I very much enjoy a cocktail at dinner or a show and a frozen drink by the pool but I can't afford many so shy away from those too. I am a drinker and go out to bars often I just can't afford to drink that way on the ship.

3. More music. I love the music! I would love to see some behind the times bands on board that was a great idea I would even pay to see them.

4. I would provide some sort of beeper or what have you to all kids signed into camp and not let kids sign themselves out. My youngest likes camp but if there are not enough kids he gets bored. He is old enough to sign himself out but I dont care for that idea! I think kids should be able to be signed out when they have had enough. I just dont like the idea of them roaming around looking for mom and dad.

5. Chair hogging need to be dealt with. I liked the idea of having assined chairs. I would even gladly pay to have more. If they dont want to have staff come by and clear unused chairs have them be signed out like the towels are. Most beaches charge for chairs too. This could help generate more $$ for CCL and maybe offset the price of more talent or cheaper drinks.

6. No more legends show! Maybe just call it a talent show oh yeah they have that, plus isnt the legands show like Karoake anyway. I have seen much better talent there than in the legends show.

I have heard lots of good ideas but that is my two cents for the moment!

I would find a different designer...give Farcus a rest.

This is soooo true.......I just returned from the FASCINATION ....black and orange.........the atriums are so dark and the low ceilings give such a closed in feeling.

Its the beautifull Caribbean or wherever...let the outside in.....

It may be cost effective but all ships do not need to look alike!

I thought of another thing. I would add one hot breakfast option to the room service menu, like an express breakfast option. Probably scrambled eggs with bacon/sausage and home fries or even a hot breakfast sandwich like egg, ham & cheese on a croissant. I really like a hot breakfast on my balcony and sometimes DH doesn't feel like being my butler :p

Hot breakfast is do able, scrambled eggs and omelettes are offered on Royal. I also agree with changing the drinking age to 18. My daughter sailed with 7 adults when she was 17 and I was able to pour wine into her glass at dinner. The wait staff said it was okay since we were her parents. Change the photos like the theme parks. Make the casino and piano bar non-smoking at least once or twice in a cruise. Royal had two non smoking casino nights on a 10 day cruise. I don't notice the smoke because I have lived with smokers my whole life. My DH doesn't really like cruising, so it is not an issue in cabin. I am probably one of the few people who really like the salt water in the pool. It was so warm in December. Drink prices are absolutely out of control. I like the wristband all inclusive idea. Charge me x amount of dollars for x amount of drinks. I like wine so I can buy the wine package. Wish I could buy it ahead of time like Royal.

Offer a complementary bus from the pier shopping village to Downtown in Cozumel.

Offer more Destinations from Gulf homeports.

Cheaper soada card with cherry coke zero available.

Now im dreaming:

We have a supper club, how about Breakfast club? Same stuff every day gets old.

The threshold between the shower and the rest of the bathroom needs to be an inch taller.

Have boxing matches between the crew, with betting.

Brew the dang tea!

Every morning at 6 am either the Captian or a member of the bridge crew has coffee with the early risers and talks about nautical stuff. (give them old men something to shop complaining about)

And the most far fetch change I would make; Hire better commedians.

Would have at least one cabin that wasn't $10,000 for a family of 6. Make it smaller than the big 'ole pres. suite and so families didn't have to get adjoining rooms every time. Kinda like RCI's family cabins. Have the little bunk beds in that little tiny space that's like a closet, a sofa bed and then a queen for the parents and the bathroom would have a tub. Prices would be closer to 4000/5000.

I would also have at least 2 cabins that were specifically for singles. Little tiny ones that they could sell for just one person. I think 2 would be reasonable and give these people a real option, while not really affecting profit overly much.

Soda would be free. It's crazy what these lines make off some Coke. My DH's family owns restaurants: Coke and Pepsi are CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. I'm talking less than a nickel per 16oz cup and Coke AND Pepsi provide the cups for free, if you use their product! On ships, it's probably more like 2 cents per cup, based on the size you get. Really a huge rip-off.

I'd have people who specifically monitored the pool area. That would be their job from 5:30 am until noon. If you were gone for more than 30 minutes, your stuff would disappear right along with you! :D Actually, this would just save me from doing it when I'm cruising... lol

Make cruisers platinum by the total number of days at sea instead of number of cruises. 7 day cruise = 7 days at sea. Platinum = 70 days at sea. What do y'all think about that?

I like that then I would have 15 days in thus far not just 3 cruises. but hmm would I really be further ahead? too tired to do the math. We would love to do more cruises but we are so busy and spend money on other things that we can only afford one a year. Living in MN we can't get to a port as often either. All the ppl close to a port hoping on 3 day cruises add up faster. They can more than likely do 3-4 of those for the same cost it takes my family of 4 to do our one.

I understand what you are saying, however if we counted all ships then the lines for VIP embarkation would be very long and there would be no benefit. I travel on several of Carnival's sister lines and I know it took awhile to get to VIP status just on Carnival. But, one has to wait for something sometimes to get a benfit. It is only fair for all of us to be treated the same by waiting until we accumalate our 10 cruises on Carnival.

I would let cruises on Carnival's sister lines count toward VIP embarkation -- wouldn't cost the cruise line anything, but would be a nice reward. If you get a combined total of 10 cruises you get VIP boarding, but only those with 10 cruises on Carnival itself would get the other Platinum perks.

This might give someone more of an incentive to try out one of the other lines while they're chasing Platinum.

I agree with days at sea is better standard, but my solution is to do B2B cruises now. There are several options to pick from and then my airfare casts are not as severe. Anyways that is another argument that has been beaten to death on other threads.

Now, back to this idea pool...I think that all lounge chairs should be numbered and reserved like dinning room tables. Want a good chair, get there early and reserve it for the day. Heck even charge a few bucks!

I totally agree! Thank you for your imput!

Change some of the "Legends" in the Carnival Legends Show. (Britney Spears just isn't my idea of a "Legend", along with some of the others.) I'd also bring back the Red Punch. If there were any "upgrades" to be handed out, I'd start with the folks who have done the most cruises aboard my line, then the ones who booked first, then the other folks. I'd enforce some of the rules aboard ship, which don't seem to get enforced, (saving seats in the theater, saving deck chairs for hours on end, kids in the "adults only" area.) I'd go aboard ship incognito, and listen to what my customers have to say about their cruise.

Ick...I like the policy of no chair hogging under any circumstances. When I want a deck chair, I go up, watch the area I want for about 15-20 minutes. After that time, I go for a chair that hasn't been visited, put any items on the chair underneath the chair and use it. Should someone come back and "claim" their chair, I'll happily return their items and remind them that there is no chair saving and that they can ask one of the staff if they have a problem. If I leave and no one has claimed the items, I put the items back on the chair.

In 3 cruises, I've only once had someone come up to me while in a chair. And when I mentioned the policy they took their items and found another chair.

If you want a good chair, get up there and occupy it. Otherwise, don't worry about it, because you aren't there. Use it or lose it.

I can't handle mid day sun in any event...I also love my afternoon naps on sea days...now, another idea.

How about having a cruise that provides a "shinny" game with Canadians against the USA...GO CANADA GO!!:D

I would move my office from ship to ship on a monthly basis. I mean you really have to know your product to do the job properly, right? Give myself another big fat raise so I could retire when I get bored with cruising........sometime arround 2030.

My "wish list"

A lightweight blanket on the beds

Moscato D Asti wine (sp?)

Fountain Pepsi Products

Reduce paper from all the sale and promo flyers

"fun" music on the Lido deck at all times

Itinerary to S. Carribbean from Tampa or Ft. Lauderdale

These are all excellent points!

I would provide a website for people who love to cruise to gather and ask questions...hummmm...ok, here is another idea for this idea pool.

If I ran CCL I would add small coffee makers in all staterooms (at least in the suites). I have heard that there is a concern about these small appliances being a fire hazard but I have to wonder about that...
