CruisingChick Posted November 24, 2009 #101 Share Posted November 24, 2009 Just got off the Explorer on Saturday and happy to report no paint damage.:) Happy to hear you had no damage. What lot did you park in? The front one that is next to the dry dock company or the back lot? Since my car was so damaged last month, we won't be sailing from NJ until this problem is resolved for good.
MEGADAN Posted November 25, 2009 #102 Share Posted November 25, 2009 Parking is provided at ports by the port, not by cruiselines. The cruiselines aren't remotely involved with where, how, when, how much etc. Complain to whoever actually owns and profits from it. You can't blame the cruiseline for something occurring in a port they happen to use. And yes, in the US also, you also park at your own risk. Signs are posted in just about every lot I've been in. Agee parking is provided by the home ports not the cruiselines. However the City of Bayonne is benefitting big time from having RCCL use their port. As a matter of fact even Jersey City and Newark have benefitting with the increase in overnight toursist. They should make the lot better since they make revenue from it but RCCL can demand it on behalf of their passengers. They hold the cards.
