Scotty Pembroke Dock Posted November 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Can anyone give me any help on the best excursion P and O provide from the port of Colon Panama. We are on the Artemis Panama Canal Cruise the 6th of February.
thecumbrian Posted November 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2009 We are on the same cruise. Started to do some port research. One website says the following on Colon: "Simply put, Panama’s most notorious city is a sprawling slum of decaying colonial grandeur and desperate human existence" Will definately be going on an excursion or staying on the ship when docked in Colon. Johnthed0g Posted November 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2009 Sounds like it's aptly named!! But what does that make us as we are ''passing through''??
Scotty Pembroke Dock Posted December 11, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted December 11, 2009 The wife has just booked Panama Canal by boat from Colon. And tropical train and mangrove tour from Puntarenas. We are staying in cabin C505 and it is our third P and O cruise.
CASPALL Posted December 12, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2009 Been there twice. The second time we stayed on the ship! We had a night tour of the city and it was terrible! We were taken through some awful places - stumbling in the dark on uneven ground. It was amazing nobody fell and broke bones! We got taken to their theatre which was under renovation. I was the first person back on the bus. The best thing about the tour was the small bottle of water they gave us on the bus. My husband reckoned it was the most expensive water ever - given the cost of the tour! We even missed our dinner that night. Caryl
