kitkat9438 Posted November 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2009 We are going on the Summit 12/12/09. Our documents say boarding begins at 5:30 p.m. That being said everyone always goes to the port early and checks in, usually after they check out of the hotel, with no problems. Yes they will have a lunch buffet when you board, even if your room is not quite ready. Usually, we board around noon or so, then drop our carry on luggage off in the room if it is ready, then go grab a bite to eat and explore the ship. Enjoy your cruise! jbranch Posted November 19, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Thanks KItKat, Will dinner also be a buffet?
kitkat9438 Posted November 19, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2009 No, dinner is your regular sit down dinner in the MDR. I have read different reports though on whether it is open seating the first night and not your assigned table. I will find out for sure when we go in December. We are also trying to find out about the muster call and if it will interfere with early dinner. So many questions.... to be answered in three more weeks. :D
beach spring Posted November 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2009 Boarded midday. Left our hotel at noon checkout and were in our stateroom by 1pm. Muster was at 6pm, thus delaying both dinners by about 15 minutes or so. Likewise, our 8:30 sailaway was a little late. We were seated at our "assigned" table in the Metropolitan DR, accordingly.
