Hi,

We are planning to book the Transatlantic on the Eurodam in AUgust 2010. Anyone who has done this cruise last year and can give me more information. Also, is it possible to bring our own wine on board in Amsterdam and how many bottles are allowed?

Thank you for all your replies!

Sounds like a fantastic itinerary but it is listed as an 18 day cruise.

I've done southern TA crossings early November and the Atlantic was like a bathtub and temps were warm enough to sit by the pool all day.

We're on the Eurodam in February and from what I have read HAL has no objection to bringing all the wine you want on board. There is an $18 per bottle corkage fee in dining rooms........Marty

We did the Transatlantic on the Eurodam this last August and the crossing was amazingly smooth. With the exception of about 12 hours of rough seas north of Scotland we had a very calm crossing.

With regard to hurricanes, we had to divert from the original itinerary because of Hurricane Bill. St. John's, Nfld. was cancelled, as were St. Pierre & Miquelon and Sydney. Instead we went around to the north of Newfoundland to Cornerbrook on the west coast and then to Gaspe, Quebec. By the time we re-emerged into the Atlantic, the hurricane had passed.

We had very calm seas for the visit to Iceland and Greenland, both of which were worth the price of admission by themselves. The fijord cruising in Greenland is subject to weather conditions but we had a nearly perfect day. Take warm clothing, including hats and mitts, as you will want to spend the day on the deck to get a panoramic view of the amazing scenery----icebergs, glaciers, mountains.

The Eurodam is a beautiful ship and has a crew that will treat you royally.

Thank you all for your replies. It's indeed 18 days...........wishfull thinking.........
