bmazzo Posted November 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2009 The Cabins are tiny, but adequate for a 3/4 night cruise. The ship, although older is still in teriffic shape. Go on this cruise and you are right, there are great prices on these trips. Go and enjoy.
KeywestK Posted November 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2009 We were on the Monarch last spring and was pleasantly surprised at what terrific shape she was in. Also, her crew was stellar! Our regular OV cabin on Deck 4 was 122 sq. ft., which translates to TINY, but who cares? We were hardly in it, and it met our needs. I do not think you will regret going on this lovely ship. Clarea Posted November 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2009 We have been on Monarch several times, and each time we are impressed with her wonderful crew. While Monarch is the oldest ship in the fleet now, it is kept in great shape. The cabins are tiny, but adequate. Give her a try, you won't be disappointed. disfan Posted November 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2009 Just completed our 6th Monarch cruise this year, yesterday. Ship is in overall good shape, with some minor wear, here and there. With respect to smoking, here is the policy, right from the Compass: " The Monarch of the Seas is primarily a non-smoking ship and no smoking is allowed in the staterooms, corridors, lounges and dining areas. Smoking is permitted on the starboard side of selected lounges and on the starboard side of the open decks. Please see posted bar hours for smoking bar locations". Not mentioned but smoking is also allowed in the casino. Any other questions, just ask.

Shooraq Posted November 22, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2009 Enjoyed the ship for the first time in September - great for a weekend getaway when all you want to do is have fun with your friends or family without eating up vacation time. Going to do it again in February - can't wait!
