DZ ruins in 8 days...questions!

I think it would be worth the effort. How often do you or your youngins get to visit a town from the 6th, 7th or 8th century? You might consider hiring a taxi to take you to the ruins and wait while you tour then take you on to the historical center of Merida. Some here have said about $40.

A great teaching/learning experience.

We went in 2005, and really enjoyed it. It was an impromptu visit, and we just paid the taxi to wait for us. I can't remember how much it was, but $40-$50 sounds about right.

We did our own self-guided tour, and ended up at the cenote, which was really nice.
