mjrich73 Posted November 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2009 How much walking is involved? How hot will it be? Is it something my 8 & 10 year olds will enjoy? Is it worth it, since the museum will be closed the day we go? Thanks!
hdawson Posted November 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2009 I think it would be worth the effort. How often do you or your youngins get to visit a town from the 6th, 7th or 8th century? You might consider hiring a taxi to take you to the ruins and wait while you tour then take you on to the historical center of Merida. Some here have said about $40. A great teaching/learning experience.

RizzoLee Posted November 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 24, 2009 We went in 2005, and really enjoyed it. It was an impromptu visit, and we just paid the taxi to wait for us. I can't remember how much it was, but $40-$50 sounds about right. We did our own self-guided tour, and ended up at the cenote, which was really nice. WilliamLawson Posted December 2, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2009 Hope you enjoyed it! I know the kids at the school will appreciate what you donated to the Chicxulub Food Bank! :) Did the machete make it back to the USA?
