Cave Tubing for 6 yr old??? Is it doable???

We are going to be in Belize the first week of May on Carnival. If I book the cave tubing through carnival, I can't take my 6 year old, however, I've read on these boards that 5 year olds are going with other tour guides. My son is very small, but he is adventurous too, exactly how much "work" and walking is involved with this tour....I'd hate to take him and have him "quit" in the middle of the tour. Do they have short and long tours? Any info would be very welcome!!!

we did coral breeze tubing last week. it was 1 hour ride to start.then 1/2 hour walk to river. You do wear life jacket and sit on top of tubes. Some fast spots on river but most is gliding and a little paddling.

guides were very helpful.

We did cave tubing with Reggie with my 7 YO son in November and had a wonderful time, my son loved walking thru the jungle talkin with our guide Jamai, about all the things that he saw. Our guide carried his tube for him. There were only 4 of us on the tour. If you make arrangments before hand, you can also pay a little extra and have an extra guide just for your child. The guide also stoppped at different points to make sure that our son wanted to keep going, so we could see all 3 cave systems. It was a great tour.

I took my 5 year old with Gillie (Yoney and Gillie) and he was vey good with her. There were only 7 of us in the group. I did have her on my shoulders for part of the rain forest walk, but this is quite doable with a small child if you book privately.

Good luck!
