10XCRUISE Posted January 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2005 Anyone tried taking their own taxi direct to Megan's beach from the pier? Know the cost? Is there a taxi stand at the beach for the return?
stanjj111 Posted January 11, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2005 Just did this last month. They fill a 15 person open bus and charge $6-7 depending upon where your ship docks.
bandpthoma Posted January 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2005 Try godfrey@godfreytoursvi.com. For $20 per person he will give you a tour, take you shopping(if you'd like), leave you at beach of your choice(and return to take you back to ship in time for departure). He is yours for the day! He will even stop at a grocery if you wish to have snacks and drinks during your tour! The price is not much more that you would pay to go to Megan's Bay by taxi. Yes, there will be plenty of taxis at pier if you just want to do that.
pooh1bear43113 Posted January 11, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2005 Get in touch with Godfrey: We booked him in early December for a tour and he was most accommodating. We enjoyed our time with him and as mentioned above - he'll drop you off at the beach of your choice - and return to pick up at a pre-determined time. We loved Sapphire(sp???) Beach.....it was just lovely. Also enjoyed an hour or so of shopping and a trip up the mountain to the lookout point with Godfrey.....
brigittetom Posted January 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2005 If you end up taking a van from the dock, they stop downtown to let those passengers off and either proceed to take you to Magens Bay or put you into another van headed there. Mind you, this is if you are by yourself or a single couple.
