Last day to decide...worth $140?

Recommended Posts

Is there an actual change in the cabin or just the deck it's on??

tried posting this twice and it wouldn't work....hopefully 3rd times a charm! :-)

The only difference between a cat I and cat F1 is the location on the ship. Catagory I is on deck 2 where there are cabins only, no public areas.

Cat F1 is on decks 5, 6, & 7. On deck 5 there is the Casino, Schooner Bar, the Centrum, The Sound of Music Lounge, Ben & Jerry's and other miscellaneous shops. On deck 7 there is Bolero's and the upper level of the Sound of Music Lounge. However, the cat F1 cabins on deck 7 have the outside promenade area outside so people walking by can see into your cabin. (Which I booked my group in F1's on deck 7 and I didn't find out until AFTER it was too late to change the cabin assignments because the sailing we are on is sold out.) On deck 6 are cabins only.

So...my opinion would be to save the $140 and spend it on other things and stay on deck 2 unless you want to be up higher up on the ship on the same level as some of the things I listed.

Cat I will be a port hole and Cat F1 will be a picture window.

That is what I was told regarding the sovereign, and they are in the same family of ships.

I took my son on the Sovereign last October and we were in an F2 4574 and it was a great cabin, and great location. I didn't even have to take the stairs to dinner, my dining room was on the same deck. ;)

Either one I think you will like, check on the port hole or window.

That could be very possible. I know that cat H is a porthole, but didn't know about cat I. And cat G is an obstructed view.

Just out of curiousity, let us know what you decide to do.

Since I'm footing the bill for all 7 of us - I think I'm going to save the $$. Even if it's a porthole - it's better than the inside cabin they started out in.

I wonder if there will be any opportunity to upgrade at the pier? (Or even better get a free bump from the cruise line!) Do peir upgrades cost less than doing them prior to sailing?? I almost expect this cruise to go out full since it is Spring Break in Arizona.

Besides - they're young, they can cope!
