How do you deal with overbooked tour operators?

We recently booked a tour with Antours and they overloaded our van to the point that it was a very uncomfortable 6 hour ride. We pre-paid the tour on-line as did everyone else. No one wanted to skip the tour. Has anyone else run into this situation?

Wow, that's terrible. Did they miscalculate the number they had booked or what? On those roads, I would think that, not only would it be uncomfortable to have a van overloaded, but it would be unsafe.

We've used Reyno Tours twice and I've never run into that situation. Not only does he not ask for payment in advance, but he has more than one vehicle and driver available, so our groups were never crowded for space and we had camera and snorkel equipment in the vans, as well as coolers with drinks.

I certainly would write them and ask for at least a partial refund for your discomfort. What do you have to lose? None of these operators want to get bad press on CC.
