Turtle tour 3 or 5 hours?

I was wondering if you recommend a 3 or 5 hour turtle tour. I am trying to figure out if I should take a 3 hour tour and then try to find a beach or just go on the 5 hour tour. On the 5 hour tour would I have any beach time? Any recommendations would be great.

Also, I was looking at the Tiami tour recommended on the boards. If I take the NCL Tiami tour would it be the same tour if I just booked it myself through Tiami. I usually dont go on cruise sponsored excurisions but I was owndering if I book independently if I would be on the same tour as the NCL one. Thanks so much

Tiami will not book you independently if they have a contract with your cruise line.

There are, however, a number of other excellent independent operators, Silvermoon or Thriller are a couple of options.

Each is a different experience. If your goal is to relax and enjoy the catamaran sail, Silver Moon is a good choice. If you enjoy a high speed boat with more snorkel stops, then Thriller is the ticket.
