debarking in San Diego

Our flight doesn't leave San untill 6:30 in the evening.We would like to visit Sea World or the Zoo. The question is what to do with our luggage.

Can't you check in at the airport and leave your bags?

 

There is an Amtrak and Greyhound station downtown (not same place) that may have luggage storage.

Too early for luggage checkin. I do not think either station has a baggage storeroom.

 

Might want to rent a car for the day from the airport. Everything is within a 15 minute drive.

You have a few options for your bags. You can leave them at Macy's in Horton Plaza until 5 pm, (about 8-10 blocks up Broadway).....or you can drop them off at one of the hotels nearby and pay the bellman to watch them. The Holiday Inn is across the street from the pier and the Embassy Suites is just 3-4 blocks south.

Thanks for the advice . Thare are 5 of us so renting a car won't do it. I'll check with the hotel bell man as we are staying at the Omni prior to departure. Macy's sounds like a good idea.

There is no luggage storage at the port/pier.

 

You cannot check luggage at the airport earlier than 4 hours prior to your flight.

 

If you go to the Zoo, there is a place you can check your luggage there.

 

Otherwise, rent a car or van and keep your luggage in the trunk (out of sight). Be careful where you park. There are guards for the Zoo parking lot, but that is no guarantee.

Thanks for the info splinter. We have decided to rent 2 cars which is cheaper than a van.
