Joby Posted December 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2009 Could anyone give some current recommendations as to Belize snokel ops? We will be there on January 28 from 8 am--5 pm (ship time). We don't want to use the ship's tours. Sea Sports Belize is $93/person and we don't want to pay that much. They also offer a private boat but, we can't get anyone elase interested in going with us to lower the price. Coral Breeze is $69 and you only get to snorkel for 1 1/2 hours. We also have looked at taking the water taxi to Caye Caulker but, it won't give us much time on the Caye (~ 3 hours). What we hope to be able to do is: take the first tender to shore, go out on a reputable reliable snorkel boat for most of the day and then tender back to the ship around 3 pm. Any other suggestions? CRUISEMAN72 Posted December 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2009 your best bet is to go to shore which will take 20 minutes get a local dive boat to take you to goffs caye. banister island is nooooooooo good for snorkling. beach day yes belikan beer hell yes. but forr snokling go to goffs caye try to get it from the ship though because you will leave from the ship which "parks" 5 or so miles away from mainland belize . goffs is 5 more miles away. its close by and nice sargeants is to far away and great blue hole is even further but the great blue hole is the best from the ship hopefully no more tehn 65 $$ from shore you can barter the more you talk it up on the ship and get people interested the cheaper it will be from shore danke lee
Joby Posted December 9, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted December 9, 2009 Thanks cruiseman. We're hoping to get a name and set it up before we leave. Anyone else have any info, suggestions or help?
jimw Posted December 9, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2009 Joby, That sounds awful high for Sea Sports--maybe they quoted a dive trip or maybe they're the same. We once took a Carnival ship trip snorkel to Cay Caulker area--2 sites--rum punch, etc. A nice trip. This was a couple of years ago and about $50. It just takes so long to tender in and out--to me it's not worth it...............

I'm a diver but, want to only snorkel with my sister and our friend. I think Sea Sports would be a great day, we just don't want to spend $93 to snorkel for the day. We really had hoped to be able to get 8 people for the private all day tour with them at $69 but, we just can't drum up the interest :( We're still hoping to either find 5 more people or find a less expensive but quality and reliable snorkel boat.
