ozzie6913 Posted December 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2009 Hi all, I am looking for some help from experienced cruisers to pick an excursion that DH and I can do with a 10 month old. We are cruising in late dec/early jan on Carnival. We will have a car seat, so a short cab ride would probably be fine. What do you all think our options might be? Any help is much appreciated! Also, any tips on cruising with an infant would be helpful as well! ;) Thanks in advance!
ozzie6913 Posted December 14, 2009 Author #2 Share Posted December 14, 2009 Anyone? Maybe our only choice will be to walk around the port and look at some shops...
OttoCal Posted December 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2009 What about a trip that includes a visit to the Belize Zoo?
wentworth Posted December 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2009 Hi all, I am looking for some help from experienced cruisers to pick an excursion that DH and I can do with a 10 month old. Our daughter has taken granddaughter to her "travel doctor" before each of her 3 cruises (she is 5). The doctor highly recommended that she not get off the ship in Belize on our Feb 21st cruise this year. The doctor okayed the other islands but cautioned against Belize because of a typhoid like fever threat at the port (malaria) We are making Belize a "day at sea". What ship are you sailing on? Do you have a balcony? That comes in handly when baby is sleeping. Camp Carnival does a wonderful job of babysitting after 10 pm. Bring a stroller (the smallest one you can with a reclining back and storage under. We were able to take gd at 16 months asleep iin stroller and watch the shows by entering at upper level and sitting by the door. Enjoy your cruise:)
loan_girl Posted December 18, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2009 Check out & Research Family Cruises in special groups section from front page of boards. Lots of great suggestions. My best suggestion (we brought our then 10 month old last November 08) is find a small blow up pool (ducky one at target worked for us) to use by the side of the pool. My daughter just sat and played in it while we had our day at sea days. She had a great time as my other kids all have. I have a 9,5, and almost 2 year old who have all been on mulitple cruises, enjoy!
