chipmeister Posted December 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2009 The one thing I did miss on Oasis was that they did not have the channel with the ship location, course, etc. I love tracking our progress, course, etc. (sorry, it's a job thing). But here's what was kind of funny. They had a channel titled 'Bridge Cam/Map'. The bridge cam was kind of cool as it scanned back and forth, but alas there was no map. Our friends mentioned they also missed it. But after we docked and the re-departed Ft. Lauderdale on the 5th, the channel title had changed to 'Bridge Cam' only. Hoepfully that won't go away and they'll get the mapping function up and running. At least by it being in the title on the first sailing, I assume they intended for it to be there. Unfortunately, I was keenly aware of our position on Saturday morning.
Tyler80 Posted December 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2009 I also like seeing this channel as well. It truly makes me feel like I'm on a voyage!

They didn't have it when I was on Liberty last year... hmmm. they had it when i was on there back in 08. sometimes it wprks just fine and other times they black it out, you never know what your going to see when you turn it to that channel. its either black with music playing or the flowrider. they do show the best os the best surfing contest every week because people were always coming up to me and saying i did a good job.
Cruise Gopher Posted December 16, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 16, 2009 No Flowrider Channel or Promenade Channel on the Oasis. I also missed the voyage map channel, hopefully they get it working. The other thing that made me REALLY annoyed was that they had a movie channel that played newer movies like Mamma Mia, but it was only in like Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian. NO ENGLISH!!! *****? It's not like we spent all the time in our room watching TV, certainly not with all there is to do on the Oasis but it would have been nice to watch the movie at night before bed. Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted December 16, 2009 #9 Share Posted December 16, 2009 I missed the map too! It is one of my pleasures on a cruise following how far we have gone and have yet to go. I also enjoy seeing the details they post such as surface, temperature, ocean depth, wind velocity and direction, ship speed and so on. Plus, the channel usually plays relaxing music I enjoy, so when I am in the cabin, that is the station I usually have on. It surprises me that a ship with such mind-blowing state-of-the-art technology does not have these interesting details available for its passengers. If anything, I expected even more--such as estimated time of arrival at next port, temperature on the Sports Deck and swimming pool areas and whatever else. MickeyB426 Posted December 16, 2009 #10 Share Posted December 16, 2009 Count me in as one who is very disappointed that the TV may not offer all these little TV "amenities". Mind you, it's not as if I will cancel a trip over this or, say, not getting a second towel at the pool. But it would have been nice. Here's hoping this is just a quirk and gets rectified soon. The countdown continues...57 days to go!
