sunflower62 Posted December 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2009 We're cruising in January and were wondering about Reggae Beach. We've been to Jamaica several times and last time went to Bamboo Beach Club (which we enjoyed a lot!). This time we kind of wanted to go on our own to a nice, safe beach and just hang out. We heard that Bamboo Beach Club is now located at Reggae Beach. Our question is - is it better to go to Reggae Beach on our own or to just book the bamboo beach club tour? We heard that if you go on your own you have to sit in a certain area away from the beach club - has anyone done that? Is the area still nice or is it on some less desirable part of the beach? Any info would be great!!
kk70ship Posted December 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2009 We went to Reggae Beach for the day on our own. It cost approximately $31 total (including taxi, entrance and lunch) to go. We had a great time. We didn't sit on the Bamboo Beach side and it was fine. The entire beach is absolutely gorgeous, so anywhere you sit is heavenly. The food and service were great - the only thing we didn't get to see were all of the cultural entertainment shows - we heard the music but because we weren't inside the beach club itself, we weren't able to enjoy the shows. Also, we didn't get unlimited food and drinks so had to pay for each beverage individually - by the way, everything was reasonably priced, and even though we left spending about $31 pp, it might have been better to just take the tour to enjoy all the benefits of the beach club. lgerrish Posted December 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2009 I can only speak for Bamboo Beach Club. We were there in April and had a fabulous time. Food, drink, entertainment and fun. I'd be interested in hearing more about Reggae Beach as well.
