ilovetinks Posted December 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2009 Just looking at shore excursions for St. Thomas, and my husband would like to take the tram up to Paradise Point. I am a little leery of the tram, as I have a fear of being suspended that high up....just how scary is it?
rpach10115 Posted December 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2009 Iy is NOT scary at all. It is no more scary than a child's "sky" ride. It runs paralell with the slope of the mountain. It is never more than 50 feet off the ground at it's highest point. You MUST go, the view from the top is beautiful. You have a great view of the harbor, Charlotte Amalie, and the cruise ships below. Also, there was a great bar on top too. There are walkways that you can take to the very top of the mountain. You really don't have to take the excursion from the ship if you dock @ Havensight. If you dock @ Havensight, it is right across the street from the dock. VERY convenient. The entrance is right across the street from Wendy's. If you dock @ Crown Bay, then I would consider taking the ship excursion. You would still have to provide your own transportation from Crown bay as the excursion from here is only for the tickets, NOT transportation. This only applies to Crown Bay. arenamara5 Posted December 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2009 Don't waste your time diong that it's a real touriist trap. Instaed forego the excursions and take a taxi to Emerald Beach for the day. It's beautiful and taxi's are waiting there for your return to the ship. About a 15 minute ride.
