Dumb taxi question...

OK...so I have never once in my life taken a taxi.

I am wondering how the taxi's at the various ports in Hawaii charge?

Is it by destination......no matter how many ppl are in the cab?

Or is it by distance.....no matter how many ppl are in the cab?

Or does the amount of ppl in the cab make a difference in the cost at all???

Do you think the taxi's are full of H1N1? :)

Thanks, Carol

It will be a new experience for you. Most taxi rides are fine, and they usually charge by the distance traveled. There should be meters in the cabs to show how much you are going to have to pay and they go by time in the cab and by distance traveled. there are some, more like car services, that might charge a set fee to take you from one place to another and you will know that fee in advance. If you are going with luggage, there might be additional fees for that.

I would not worry about the virus from a taxi. Not that they would be any cleaner than anything else or any other place you might visit, but that should not be your biggrest concerns on visiting Hawaii.

Actually I have had the vaccine, yes.

I was just making a quip about how dirty (full of germs) taxi's might be in general.

At this moment I am getting over a cold, which I guess I am glad that I have, so it won't come during the middle of my cruise. :o

Would love to hear stories from others who have ended up ill on vacation!

It's just the luck of the draw I guess, huh.

Can't imagine ever getting SO sick that I would cancel a vacation...had a friend who went to India and stayed in the room for 4 days due to terrible diarrhea. Imagine the idea of getting on the plane to fly home!!!
