concerns regarding dining times

hi,

we are on our first cruise in february from long beach on splendor.

we checked off 6pm dining with waitlist and on our confirmation it shows late 8:15 pm dining. the food is a nice part of the cruise that we look forward to but not the main reason. do they allow you to show up early and wait for a table? Is the food decent at the buffet also or is it worth the late time in dining room? what about port days? would it be easier to return to the ship for an early dinner in puerto vallarta or mazatlan?

Remember all dining times are a request.. it seems you dd get the later dining.. if you can not change it before hand make sure to see the M'D once you board and see if you can get it changed..

I do not know if the Splendor as anytime dining but I would think she does...
