Writing a Review... QUESTION

Hello all you wonderful CC members. I am cruising in ONE WEEK :D and plan on writing an extensive pictorial review when I get back. Anyways, when writing a review, am I allowed to name tours/tour operators/etc? Or can I not mention them unless specifically asked?

THANKS

Yes, you are allowed to mention tours/tour operators.

Looking forward to your review! Hint: Write it all down every day so you don't forget everything! I take a small notebook with me and write in the morning, before the family wakes up, about the prior day's activities.

You can write about specific tours and excursions that you go on. Just be careful how much you write. The CC Boards and hosts try to keep people from advertising for any specific vendors, so put down that you had a good experience and the tour group, but try not to post too much advertising for the vendor.

I always take my laptop with me. DW and I take *A LOT* of photos and we download the photos every day to the laptop. It's also nice so that if we have time to do this before dinner, we take the laptop to dinner and we can show the group we are traveling with the photos of the day (if they want to see them). And I sit down each night when I am winding down for the night and write my diary then. I can also use the photos to help me remember things that I want to note in my diary for the day. And with the diary entries on the computer, I can post them on CC when I get back (you can see my last two cruise diaries from the links in my sig below).

In fact, we're getting ready for our next cruise next week. DW and I have reviewed the diary entries so that we remind ourselves of the things we liked and disliked on the previous cruises. It helps get us in the right frame of mind and also helps us avoid repeating things we didn't like or at least preparing for problems we encountered before. We're definitely rarin' to go again!

Please Don't forget that you are on a cruise...a vacation.

Don't let worrying over too many details get in the way of your fun and relaxation.

I have been to different events where I tried to make

notes of many details, making sure I captured every little

detail in pics, and by the time it was over, I had to look at

the pics to see what fun all I missed while I was

doing this.

I have actually considered not taking a camera on our next cruise:eek:

Sure you can as long as it's part of your review and not merely a recommendation for a given tour operator or resort.

As an example, I did a fairly lengthy report of the Wyndham Viva Fortuna in Freeport in my review of Cruisin' With The Crazies!

I written a couple of reviews and haven't taken notes during the cruise. When I get home, I start a draft version of the review, mapping out each day, and then filling in the blanks over the next few days. Then ask my wife to make sure it is right. ;)

What has helped me alot was saving the Capers. They can be great memory joggers of what we did - especially sea days.
