BrooklinNorth Posted January 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2010 I have a question or two for you recent Valor western itinerary cruisers. What is the dress code like, is it the same as Royal Caribbean? Casual/Smart Casual and formal? And what nights are our formal nights? If anyone has scanned Capers from this itinerary in the last few months, can you send me a link , I've only found some rom 2007, and 2008 and they contradict each other . We leave in four weeks and I'm trying to figure out what to take, help! please ..:o thanks Lori
CruiseLover824 Posted January 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2010 I don't have my Valor Capers...but I seem to remember that our first elegant night was on Monday(sea day). The second elegant night was on Thursday. As for attire...I would say expect to see everything! Some men were wearing tuxes, yet others were wearing khaki's and polos. Some of the women were wearing formal gowns, and others were far more casual. The 2nd night there were definitely less people dressed up.
KenMo Posted January 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2010 I don't know about RC, but Carnival it pretty lax. Here's the dress code from their website: Is there a dress code for the dining room? Depending on the length of the cruise, either formal dress or casual resort wear is required in the Dining Room. The dress requirement for children is the same. For those not wanting to dress up, the Lido restaurants are open nightly (with the exception of the last evening of the cruise), and have a casual dress code. However, shirts and shoes/footwear (flip-flops) must be worn at all times inside the Lido restaurants. Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts; Ladies - Casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses, Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs). Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men and baseball hats. Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so. Ladies - Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too! Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats. And I believe CruiseLover is correct...Monday and Thursday for Elegant Night.
