Bflo Cruiser Posted January 4, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2010 We took the Pride 12/27/09 to 1/3/10. One balcony cabin and two inside cabins. Ages: 11, 15, 20, 21, 43, 42, 69. The entire staff was extremely friendly and very accomodating. No matter what their job was on the ship, they always said hello or have a good day or smiled and nodded their head. All of the passengers were very friendly toward one another and toward the staff. About one third of the passengers were under 21 because it was Christmas break week. But the kids were all fine and seemed to have as much fun as the adults. The winds were high and the seas were rough both at the beginning and the end of the cruise. Just get a prescription from your doctor for the patch and you will be fine. You won't need it between Florida and the Bahamas but I highly recommend it for the beginning and end of the trip so that you can enjoy yourself. Bring a small surge protector/outlet strip. There is literally only one outlet in the entire cabin and if you have an i-pod, cell phone, laptop, or anything to plug in, you will have to share one outlet. Debarkation ended up being about two hours late because when we arrived in the port, there was a significant amount of ice on the area of the ship where we would be getting off the ship. They also had to close all access to the outside decks on the last morning because everything was covered in a thin layer of ice. The weather was unseasonably cold in Baltimore. The convenience (and cost savings) from being able to drive six hours to the port instead of flying is a huge advantage and well worth the cold weather days at the beginning and end of the cruise. There is plenty to do on the ship so the weather really does not matter. I feel that a balcony cabin on this itinerary during the winter is a bit of a waste of the extra cost because we really only used the balcony for three of the seven days. Thank you to Carnival for having such a great ship leaving out of a Northeast port year around!
