kiraryker Posted January 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Just a question - we noticed on our last cruise that it seemed while out to sea the slides weren't running - didn't know if it was just our ship or if that is all the ships for some safety reason? tiggerman101 Posted January 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2010 They were probably just closed due to heavy wind. It happens from time to time. Normally the slides will be open on sea days.
nobody000 Posted January 6, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Yes they will be, but depending on winds and waves sometimes they will have to close it down for safety reasons. :D

mdepsmom Posted January 6, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Along those same lines, are the slides open on port days? We may stay on board on one of the port days and I know my DS won't be able to get enough of that slide.

They open, weather permitting. High winds or rough seas will get it closed for sure.
MrPete Posted January 6, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 6, 2010 They're always closed in bad weather/high winds, but they are closed at other times as well, and I've never figured out their pattern. My last Legend cruise, it was closed the entire week.
trock Posted January 6, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Sometimes, like on the Victory:mad:, I would have loved to just pull the bottom of the slide and hang it over the rail :p

The slides on the Destiny class are the pits. They should be called sticks.

steveNcindy Posted January 6, 2010 #11 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Our 2nd cruise on the Legend it was closed 2 different sea days due to "Code Brown" incidents. Lots of reasons they can be shut down.

MrPete Posted January 6, 2010 #18 Share Posted January 6, 2010 So which Carnival ships have the best slides??? My vote is the one's you find on the Spirit class ship (with the exception of the Waterworks parks on the Fantasy Class, as well as the Dream one, as I have not been on these). However, I think I read they have been redoing the Spirit ones as they were TOO fast. I was disappointed to read that.
SoonerOne Posted January 6, 2010 #19 Share Posted January 6, 2010 We have been on the Conquest twice and never seen the slides open......
GlendaleCruiser Posted January 6, 2010 #20 Share Posted January 6, 2010 Loved the slides on the Dream. The whirly bowl was too short, but the Twister was super fun. They posted the hours in the Capers, but I just ketp watching for them to be open and they were open quite a bit. Of course, it was pretty calm water in the Med when we were there.
