Poesia dress code

First time MSC cruisers and we are leaving on the 16th. I went to the MSC website to get some info and ran across a section that said that jeans and shorts could not be worn in public places after 6PM. I will obviously be dressing up for dinner, but I can't imagine that khaki shorts are unacceptable on deck after 6PM, it's the caribbean after all. Can past Poesia cuisers comment on what was the norm for evening attire in places other than the dining rooms. Thanks.

We just got off the Christmas cruise and you can wear your normal cruisewear (shorts, etc) anywhere except the dining room. I guess they would let you in but they do frown upon it as do the other passengers. We usually dressed for dinner and then got back into comfortable clothes for the evening.

We will be on the Poesia for a week in the Carib. starting on the 23rd of Jan. Our first MSC cruise. During the day( breakfast & lunch) are shorts OK in the dining room and cafeteria or will we need to change into long pants. Read MSC info and many posts on CC but could not find a difinitive answer . Thanks Bill
