Travel Angel Posted May 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2004 ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL’S VOYAGER OF THE SEAS TO CRUISE TO BERMUDA IN 2005 Ship Will Offer Bermuda, Caribbean Cruise Vacations from Cape Liberty Cruise Port MIAMI, May 14, 2004 – Royal Caribbean International’s Voyager of the Seas, which recently debuted at the Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, N.J., will return in May 2005 to offer cruisers a new way to experience Bermuda. Voyager of the Seas will sail five-night Bermuda itineraries, calling in King’s Wharf, from May 15 to Nov. 13, 2005. “Bermuda is an ideal cruise destination, offering both history and charm, as well as a variety of experiences to appeal to guests with different interests,†said Dan Hanrahan, senior vice president, Marketing and Sales, for Royal Caribbean International. “Voyager of the Seas’ extensive array of activities and amenities ensures guests’ time onboard is as exciting and enjoyable as time spent exploring the island.†Voyager of the Seas remains one of the most innovative ships at sea. Introduced in 1999, Voyager was the first cruise ship to feature a rock-climbing wall, an ice skating rink, an in-line skating track and a horizontal atrium – The Royal Promenade shopping, dining and entertainment boulevard. Guests have six restaurants and more than a dozen lounges and bars to choose from, as well as a state-of-the-art theater and the Las Vegas-style Casino Royale. While in port, Royal Caribbean’s Explorations! shore excursion program takes guests to explore the Bermuda Triangle from beneath the waves; kayak the island’s sheltered waterways; cast for blue marlin, wahoo and tuna on a deep-sea fishing trip; or stroll back in time in historic St. George’s, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The new five-night Bermuda cruises will alternate with Voyager’s nine-night Caribbean itineraries from Cape Liberty, first introduced in May 2004. The Caribbean cruises take guests to Labadee, Hispaniola; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. Curtis... Waiting patiently for MY ship to come in !!! karen_cpa Posted May 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2004 I read someplace that the 5 day was 2 sea days, one day in Bermuda and 2 sea days back. Is that true?? Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to only spend 1 day in Bermuda. FinelyCruising Posted May 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2004 I'm with you. Traditonally the ships have taken a day out and a day back. So 3 days in Bermuda ios OK, but for 5 days I can have a grand time in Key West!

I thought I read where the ship would dock over night in Bermuda with two days to explore. I was really looking forward to this cruise as we have never been to Bermuda. The Grandeur ship and embarkation port suits us better. I wonder when the pricing will come out? Dolphins Posted May 22, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2004 There is one sea day and 2 sea nights going down and coming back. You have 2 days and one night in Bermuda. Not enough for me so I hope they don't terminate the Empress of the Seas 8 day Bermuda cruises next year.
RichNY Posted May 22, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 22, 2004 2 days in Bermuda and 3100 people at Dockyard...not a good thing... F/14 if you really want to experience Bermuda this is NOT the way to do it...just hope they are keeping the 8 night Empress of the Seas. Family of 14 Posted May 22, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 22, 2004 Thanks for the info. May have to rethink this unless it turns out to be a great deal as a little getaway. What would the weather be like in May with the sea days? We love sea days as much as the ports, especially on a Vision or Voyager class ship.
