barbaraanne Posted January 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2010 Is it likely to be windy or chilly in the beginning of February? Also, how warm will the water be? Will it be the same temp at Rum Point as at Seven Mile? I thought I read that the northwestern winds can be a problem at Rum Point. Has it been cold down in Grand Cayman lately with all this frigid northern air mass as far south as Florida?? thanks!
drew sailbum Posted January 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2010 From today's weather forecast: " High Temperature today will rise to the upper 70’s. Low Temperature tonight will fall to the mid 60’s." Yes... that is chilly for Cayman. :D
barbaraanne Posted January 11, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2010 From today's weather forecast:" High Temperature today will rise to the upper 70’s. Low Temperature tonight will fall to the mid 60’s." Yes... that is chilly for Cayman. :D Well, would seven mile beach be a less windy beach, perhaps warmer than rum point? I thought I read that rum point can be very windy, and that seven mile is more protected. Is this true?
drew sailbum Posted January 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2010 Depends upon the wind direction. Usually both are fairly protected with typical wind directions of NE to ESE. If the wind comes from the SSE Rum Point is actually more protected.
