Suite Perks

I wouldn´t go on any cruise for the perks.

To me it´s a matter of price and value. There´s nothing like "perks" I get in Suites. I get perks in loyalty programs, as I don´t pay for those.

Stuff I get when booking a suite is something I paid for and have to decide before buying if I want to pay for it.

I guess I would say that when you are in a suite on X, they go the extra mile for you. I didn't feel that way at all on RCCL. But, that is an overall difference between the 2, and I understand that. Significant diff is the butler service.

We are C & A members, it got us 'discounted drinks' 1 night, we skipped it.

From what I have read you must sign up on board. Where-I don't know.

I would think if you are in a suite-the concierge would be the one to ask.

I have a suite booked in a few weeks so I guess I will ask the concierge what to do.

I definitly would like to use his perk!

We were on Adventure in Nov and The valet Luggage worked like this:

They put a sign up sheet in your suite mid way through the cruise. It is the same sheet that is used for everybody who wants valet luggage,so it will say there is a $20pp fee. You complete the form and return it to the Concierge. The fee will be added to your seapass account and then will be credited. I believe the Concierge takes care of making sure this happens. For San Juan you have to claim your luggage, go through customs and then right outside customs you turn your luggage over to RCCL staff and they take it from there. This part is slightly different depending on you disembarkation port. I believe some of the ports they take your luggage the night before and the next time you see it is at your home destination.

I agree, to a point. On RCI, as well as X, if the "perk advertised" is not forthcoming, you need to ask for it. Doesn't live up to the slogan of "anticipating your needs" does it?

Have traveled in RS and PS on X, PS on AZ, and RS on RCI. While the space and innovations are more evident on RCI, the suble elegance on X is superior. The service on AZ is exemplary.

Is "Luggage Valet" service available in San Diego? I will be sailing on Radiance of the Seas on the 22nd, in a GS, and would like to use this service if it's available.

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, Luggage Valet service is available when disembarking from Radiance in San Diego.

Flights must depart between 11:30AM and 11:59PM.

Airlines that participate are Air Tran, Alaska, American, Delta, United, Jet Blue, Northwest, Continental and US Airways.

RCI has great suites and that is the reason to book them. Not the perks. NCL blows RCI away here.

Some of the extra things that we experienced on NCL this past July was:

Escort from curb side to a private check in lounge by NCL rep and then onto the ship by the suite butler. We were not in the top accommodations either. Never had an escort with the RS on RCI.

Breakfast and Lunch in Cagney's Steakhouse. Special menu and of course, no charge. This was VERY good.

Butler for cabin service.

The above were the main differences and there are more.

The additions that were added last year by RCI was nothing earth shattering. They cost the cruise little to nothing to provide. Again, you book a suite on RCI to get the extra space.

It's unfortunate that RCI doesn't take note of what other cruise lines are doing for their suite guests.

Thank you for the information. I will take advantage of it. We have an 11:50 a.m. flight on Northwest/Delta so it's nice to know we can take advantage of the program.

Take care,

Mike

Royal Caribbean has nice suites in regards to space and decor but NCL beats them hands down in regard to perks.

Breakfast and lunch in Cagney's is almost worth the extra cost alone. It would be a nice touch if Royal Caribbean had something similar in Chops or Portofinos. Also, the personal coffee/cappuccino makers in the suites are a great idea for us coffee junkies.

NCL's suite perks have caught on and subsequently the price of their suites has increased over the last few months and people are booking them.

Take care,

Mike

OK, so you have to get your food in WJ

and bring it to the MDR to eat?

I thought that there was a menu

and order from it in the MDR for Breakfast and Lunch.

I also hoped that this was for everyone,

since we have 3 other groups going and they are inside cabins.

You can either go to the MDR for breakfast where you'll have a menu, or you can go to the WJ for breakfast...buffet style. Then there's always room service.

Are you referring to suite guests being able to eat in Chops/Portofino for breakfast and lunch? If yes, you do get your food from the Windjammer and carry it into the restaurant.

Yes. We used it on the Adventure back in April. Worked great.

Nice to know. Was on the IOS TA in November and they did not offer valet service into FLL, for some reason.

Any airlines that don't offer this service out of SJU?

Thanks,

TnT
