Fozzycat Posted January 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2010 Currently have 9690 aft balcony booked on the Explorer for April, but it appears to only have one door and a window versus the normal sliding door. 8392 is available as well. Which is the better choice?
Puffinater Posted January 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2010 We enjoy 9690 and the novelty of the big round window. The balcony is more of a triangle with a structure beam on the side. We have also had 9692 which is directly above 8692 so 8392 would be the same just opposite sides. I will say that from 9692 you can look directly into the balcony of 8692 and the same would hold true from the other side. You will have no privacy at all if someone is on the balcony above you. Rare Birdnutty Posted April 7, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2010 Hi! We're considering booking this cruise and this category, but are wondering just how bad the obstruction is. Is the balcony much smaller, to the point where it's hardly worth it? Are the ninth deck balconies more private? Haven't even been in an RCI balcony, and really looking forward to it. Thanks!
