Russy Posted January 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2010 Has anyone ever stayed at the Marriott and taken a canal tour from the hotel? Can I book it when we get there?
as19111 Posted January 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2010 We were there in late May and they were not running from that stop. So, it really depends on when you sail. However, we did walk from the Marriott to Nyhaven(sp?) and picked up a tour there. It's not a very long walk, and it is enjoyable. You also have to differentiate the water taxi from the canal tour to get the narration. The front desk at the Marriott is very helpful and they will guide you to the correct locations. ericosmith Posted January 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Even if you don't catch the tour from the Mariott you can still take the boat to Nyhaven and transfer to one of the tours.
helpmesailaway Posted January 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2010 What boat do you take from the Marriott to get to the Canal tour? Sounds like a fun way to get there. Also, are the water taxi covered in the CPH card for all day transportation? Thank you.
ericosmith Posted January 10, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2010 I'm not sure if it's covered or not. We bought the all day pass which included the water taxi as well as the tour. You can change boats at Nyhaven. We just used the boats and walked to see the sites we had time for. This is the route that goes by the Marriott http://www.canaltours.com/DCT/EN/Waterbus/Blue/

ddschur Posted January 13, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2010 to the right of the Marriott (~2 short blocks) is a pier with (I think???) Blue Boat Tours which has a narrative and very enjoyable. It is directly across from the MOMO Restuarant...
wlbox Posted January 19, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 19, 2010 We took the boat that left from Nyhavn. I think it cost around $7 per person and they took American dollars.. Great tour and a relaxing way to see Copenhagen. We stayed at the Marriott but enjoyed the walk thru town and then the boat ride.
Dushi Posted January 21, 2010 #9 Share Posted January 21, 2010 We took the DFDS boat cruise from the Marriott in August 2009. You can ask the Excursions Desk staff when you arrive. There were several departures available on weekends and a more limited schedule during the weekdays. I'd recommend searching DFS' website to see the routes as there are several different cruises. The boat leaving from the Marriott goes on a specific route and then drops you back at the hotel. We wanted a more comprehensive itinerary so we switched boats at the first stop before Nyhavn; then walked back to the hotel after the cruise ended. http://www.canaltours.com/dct/en
