rcprncss Posted January 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2010 I posted this in the St. Kitts thread but haven't received a response. I am interested in the Catamaran excursion while on the Equinox in May. I am looking for experiences/reviews. Thank you. :) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1115809
TourDeCruise Posted January 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2010 We really enjoyed this excursion that we took when on the Galaxy a couple years ago. In fact, I just booked it again for next month. Make sure it is going to Nevis and not Cockleshell Beach as Nevis had damage from a hurricane and cruise ships are now starting to return there. Nevis was lovely and was not overcrowded with just passengers from our ship. They played Caribbean music in route and we could dance or just relax and enjoy the music and scenery. We had a lot of Bob Marley and even had Abba's Dancing Queen but to a Caribbean beat. We stopped in route for pleasant snorkeling and then onto Nevis for a barbeque lunch. The lunch was good but not spectacular -- barbeque chicken, beans, fruit, cookies, etc. We had additional time to swim or walk on the beach. And then sailed back to St. Kitts with more Caribbean music and dancing or relaxing. Kathy
tcdtcd Posted January 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2010 We just did this excursion two weeks ago (12/21) aboard the Millennium. If you are really into snorkeling, you will be disappointed. It was mediocre at best. All rock, no coral, few fish, all small. However, as a full day excursion, including the catamaran ride, lunch, beach stop, and party boat upon return, it was alot of fun. Just don't go expecting good snorkeling.
rcprncss Posted January 9, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Kathy and tcdtcd, how many passengers were on the catamaran? I hear it can be crowded. Did you feel like there were not enough room to seat everyone on board? Thanks for your responses!
