Help with deciding Brillance vs Millie

Recommended Posts

Have finally convinced by dh to go to Europe this summer and cruise. I have narrowed it down to either Brillance or Millennium. Has anyone sailed these ships and compare. Pros and cons. I really need some help. Many thanks

(ps. pricing is almost the same, so that is not a factor)

That is a very tough decision to make. We have sailed both and they are our favorite ships on the seas.

Milennium is a more formal ship with slightly better food. We really enjoyed the salmon at the spa pool on the Milennium, others enjoyed the sushi.

Brilliance also is a beautiful ship with a slightly more relaxed atmosphere, and maybe slightly younger crowd.

You can't go wrong in either.

As far as cabin comparisons, I can speak about aft cabins, as we have had both on each ship.

The aft cabin on the Millennium was much larger, so if that were an option, I'de go on the Millennium.

We have yet to cruise on the Radiance Class ship (coming up in September icon_smile.gif), but have been on the beautiful Millie. You will love her!

Very elegant and the food was the best yet! The solarium was VERY large and the pool had very neat roller type benches that you sit on and relax.

We just loved the extra service of "iced wash cloths" after a hot excursion. The staff pass these out at the gangway and out around the pool on sea days. They also serve "sorbet" on sea days. It is a big production where the staff bring them out on trays and sing and dance like in the dining rooms. You just can't beat the service of Celebrity!

Our stateroom was also aft and was beautifully decorated. The silver ice bucket and water pitcher were very nice extra's.

If you haven't tried Celebrity, then I suggest you do...you will not be sorry.

I have been on both the Millie and Brilliance. Had a balcony cabin on both. Room size about the same. Millie had better food. Brilliance had better dining options. Loved the Windjammer cafe and the buffets. Food and service in Brilliance dining room was just ok. Millie had great dining room service, but buffets were just ok.

Brilliance is a bigger ship. Seemed to have more activities. Casino was much bigger too. Thought the bars were better on the Brilianced too.

Why not go on both ships and see for yourself !

Happy sailing.....

We have been on the Millie twice in Carib. and the Brilliance in Europe. I would definately choose the Millie over the Brilliance anyday. The Brilliance is a beautiful ship but Celebrity's food is tops. We love the speciality resturant the Olympic on the Millie by far. It takes you back to the days of the Titanic ie. service, decor,. The Millie happened to be parked by us in one port and we really did want to jump ship and stowaway on her. The beef on the Brilliance is European and it is tasteless and tough. the flow of the layout on the millie is better. If we had to do Europe again I would not think for one minute which cruiseline would win.
