jkjmt Posted January 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2010 This is our fourth time to Belize and the third time it has poured on us. Canival cancelled our River Wallace/Altun Ha excursion.....we were disappointed.....but we shopped and tried to stay dry.

maggieworkman Posted January 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2010 I was doing some research and came across this climatograph showing the average rain by month in Belize. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.sci.uidaho.edu/scripter/geog100/lect/06-climates/intro-climates/belize-climog-tradewind-coast.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.sci.uidaho.edu/scripter/geog100/lect/06-climates/intro-climates/climograph-example.htm&usg=__jD5jf_pvZQ3dG9lIz0mLMt7EFwA=&h=413&w=403&sz=23&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=jOxPVNbQLTY5XM:&tbnh=125&tbnw=122&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dclimatograph%2Bbelize%26hl%3Den%26um%3D1 Maggie
MDSue Posted January 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2010 I've been to Belize twice in early April and haven't had rain yet. I feel bad for you. I'd be so bummed if I'd been rained on so many times. What time of year were you travelling?
2112 Posted January 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2010 It doesn't always rain. I've spent quite a bit of time in Belize and only had a few days of rain. Keep in mind though that they don't call it the rainforest for nothing. I do have to say I've spent quite a bit of time in Costa Rica but never had a day without rain there. 5waldos Posted January 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2010 We've spent 2 weeks in each- Belize and Costa Rica- and had no rain in either country.
jkjmt Posted January 12, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted January 12, 2010 I knew (expected) I'd get the "rainforest" comment.....:D ...but I too thought the "rainy" season was over. We've been in January, March, and April.
BigRed93 Posted January 13, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 13, 2010 Rotten luck with the rain... Been there in Dec., Feb. and May, and only bad weather encountered was overcast with a few drizzles in May. otherwise beautiful, hot, humid weather. Pirate's Cutie Posted January 14, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 14, 2010 I knew (expected) I'd get the "rainforest" comment.....:D ...but I too thought the "rainy" season was over. We've been in January, March, and April. Hmmmm, remind me never to go to Belize on the same day as you ever again:D:eek:! Just kidding you of course. JKJMT and I were on the same cruise and what we had that day was not the typical rainforest sun showers, unfortunately. It was 20 degrees below normal, solidly overcast all day long and raining in a very gray dismal manner most of the day. Do NOT go to Belize with this woman;);)
