Any Canadians since security??

:D Hi there I am looking to hear from any Canadians that have flown down since the new security measures have been in place.How were they at getting people through,??Did you need to be at the airport more than 3hrs early??Were you allowed to take a purse big enough for all of your junk???What did men do with there stuff ,walets meds,glasses ,and stuff like that since they dont carry purses??? yes, allow lots of time, there is a second security check at the boarding gate with a thorough pat down and purses are checked. If you meds or laptop, you can take a small case for them, but they will be pulled apart & checked thoroughly. 3 hrs should do it

When you say the purses are checked do you mean checked in with suitcases or searched.Thanks

Inspected at the second security stop - it was random, they would separate men's line from women's line for the pat down, and then at random, they empty purses and inspect the contents.

Were woman using large purses or were they all very small?

Hi , we left from Montreal on 29 Dec. All luggage had to be checked no carry on except for a purse(handbag). We went thru security check(x-ray) then there is a second security check be fore arriving at your gate. Tjey do a patdown and verify all the contents of your purse. No trouble and no extra wait time. So 3 hours ahead is good(just in case).

We had freinds that left thru Toronto on the 27 Dec. It was chaos, they waited i ndifferent lines for over 6 hours. But since then it is working fine.
