Mjasp Posted January 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2010 Do you get priority boarding when you book with the Harrah's discount or is that only for CAS bookings?
slotaddict Posted January 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Do you get priority boarding when you book with the Harrah's discount or is that only for CAS bookings? I have booked with CAS and never had priority boarding - that said I don;t think having a Harrah's discount will do anything for you either... Monaco02 Posted January 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Maybe it depends on the port.....we sail out of New York and when booked through CAS get priority boarding. Not sure about booking through Harrah's.

terrymtex01 Posted January 16, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2010 We have sailed out of NY, Miami, Seattle and LA and never got priority boarding for booking through CAS, only for booking a suite. That said, I don't think you will see a lot of difference in the treatment you are given booking through Harrah's or CAS. If you qualify booking through CAS I personally would recommend booking through them because then you have booked directly with NCL. It seems, although I'm only going by what I have read here on CC, that you do get a better deal booking with CAS.

Quite honestly, it's very easy to miss - my DH actually caught it the first time, I was heading towards the regular check in when he saw the sign. On the sign / banner for suite check in it says Suites and Casino At Sea VIP. So there's not a seperate check in just for CAS it's included with the suites. In New York there's a seperate CAS room to wait in to board, again, nobody told us where to go after checking in, DH saw the sign outside of the room. We were escorted onto the ship about 15 minutes later and were the first ones in the buffet :)
cruisegal98 Posted January 16, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2010 We arrived at Pier at 12:30 due ro traffic, we saw a sign that said CAS check in, they checked us right in and then we went to a room in NYC pier. We chose to sit in the back of the room beacuse room was very crowded and then they opened back door near us and we were right near it and we were first on ship. It pays to book through CAS no long lines.

dznymom Posted January 16, 2010 #12 Share Posted January 16, 2010 In Dover I saw the CAS VIP check in area (along with the suite area) so we went in there and after some confusion were escorted out. Apparently they were not set up for CAS but it was awkward and a little annoying. Change the sign already :p Does anyone know if they offer it in New Orleans? Monaco02 Posted January 17, 2010 #20 Share Posted January 17, 2010 And who is a regular CAS bookee, and CAS VIP? And what else do you get if you are VIP with CAS? There is no difference...."regular CAS vs. VIP CAS" = Same thing. It's just NCL's signage always says CAS VIP. Perks of booking with CAS: priority boarding, free drinks in casino, a couple delivered "treats", player card in your cabin (not a biggy but nice not having to stand in line on first day to get one), points at the end of cruise automatically get transferred (again, not a biggy, but nice not having to stand in a line on the last night)
Pszaffveauhraunne Posted January 18, 2010 #21 Share Posted January 18, 2010 Has anyone seen such a "CAS VIP" line in Los Angeles? We're booked on the April 24th Pearl cruise through CAS, and thinking that priority boarding would be fantastic :D
pixiedustdawn Posted January 18, 2010 #22 Share Posted January 18, 2010 I have seen the CAS VIP separate line and waiting area. Waiting area is by the windows and door that opens to board the ship. It is usually roped off for CAS only. I think Mjasp wants to know if there is a difference booking through CAS or Harrahs. Is she entitled to CAS VIP since she booked with Harrahs? geneticfreak Posted January 18, 2010 #23 Share Posted January 18, 2010 I would imagine there is no difference, since it all goes through CAS eventually anyway along with the fact that NCL and Harrahs fall under the same parent company. The first cruise I booked was through an independent host and I had all the same perks.
terrymtex01 Posted January 18, 2010 #24 Share Posted January 18, 2010 That is great info to know and to pass along. In NYC the main terminal area is a blur to me. As soon as the lady at check-in saw we were in a suite they wisked us off to the suite waiting area so I swear I didn't get to see anything of the main termanal area at all.. LOL. When they boarded the suite guest in NYC I did see another group of people being escorted aboard at the same time so I guess that must have been the CAS group.
