LaShelle2 Posted January 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2010 :confused:Me and a friend are sailing out of san juan May2 I need a room for 1 night pre-cruise that is safe and not too expensive. Would be a bonus if it is beach front and if they have an airport/cruise port shuttle. I have ssen some good bids on priceline and Hotwire posted on betterbidding.com, but if I could book direct and not have to gamble getting a good place I would rather do that. panamatiger Posted January 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2010 We've stayed at the El Canario by the Sea. Its one block up from the Marriot casino. Same beach for 1/3rd the price. You'll have to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel $17 and to the pier but you mentioned you wanted the beach and inexpensive ...just like us. BTW are you sailing the Victory on May 2nd? We'll just be coming back and staying post cruise at El Canario as well
mu1809 Posted January 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2010 Stayed at Da House in Old San Juan for $80/night. It is centrally located and very clean. Rooms are small. Lovely art work in lobby and all rooms. Can be noisy-the hotel's web site gives you information on quiet rooms if that is what you prefer. There is a computer and free internet in the lobby. It has the feel of a quaint hotel in Europe. If I wanted to stay in Old San Juan again, I would stay here again.
macaroni Posted January 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2010 Don't worry about Priceline or Hotwire....if you bid 4 star in the san juan area you will get a great hotel...all of them are nice and you will not spend more than $100. Try it! On Priceline, we have always gotten the Intercontinental or Caribe Hilton. Don't do less than a 3 1/2 star.
