Important PV Zip Line Question

Hello all. Thanks so much for the great reviews and posts. We are doing our first MR cruise on RCCL Feb. 14 and can't wait!

We have the clear indication that the zipline in PV is a not-to-be-missed excursion...and we've always wanted to do one, so we're in! But an important question.....does the actual activity take place in Nayarit? I give blood on a regular basis and have been told that entry into that state (just north of Puerta Vallarta) will disqualify me for a year because of malaria concerns. I would like to avoid this, but don't know how to find out where the actual excursions go. Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance!

There are about a half dozen canopy/zipline excursion operations based in Vallarta. I don't know the exact location of ALL of them. I don't think any are to the west & northwest in Nayarit state.

Do you know the specific canopy/zipline excursion(s) that you are looking at doing?

The two companies that seem to have been recommended most are: http://www.canopytours-vallarta.com/ or http://www.canopyeleden.com/ - so we were probably going to go to one of those....but I can't find anything on the sites that indicate where they go.

If anyone has another recommendation....I'm happy to entertain.

HI -If you are talking about the zip line that has the speed boat, mules and rappelling you can email vallarta-adventures . com They would know the answer to your question.

Reference this map - http://vallartainfo.com/map.html

Locate the town Mismaloya below Puerto Vallarta. Continue looking below that until your find Los Veranos. That's the location for the Los Veranos zipline excursion site.

Back to the map and find Mismaloya again. There is a river flowing into the town and that is the El Eden. Go upstreem to a point roughly at the "T" in Boca de Tomatlan and you will have the location for the El Eden zipline zipline excursion.

Back to the map again. Find the airport. The river (Rio Ameca) above and left of the airport is roughly the Nayarit-Jalisco state line.

Either one of the zipline excursion you are look at are well within Jalisco State.

Enjoy!
