eggybear54 Posted January 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2010 We are just booking a 7-day Western out of Miami on the Pearl. We have been on the Jewel, and know the rock climbing wall and bowling alley are enhancements. Is there a cost to use these venues? I am sure they are in high demand. Is there a reservation process with either, or is it just first come first serve?

We never had to wait for bowling but for the rock climbing there were usually 6-7 people in front of us, but the line moved well and it was good to cheer on the people in front of you. Oh yeah - it's first come first served. Hope you have a great time!!
shines4 Posted January 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2010 We had to wait for bowling a couple times on at sea days. One time it was an hour wait and they kept a list. We just hung out in the lounge not a big deal. Two of the four lanes were not working so maybe that was the reason for the wait. We loved the Pearl! eggybear54 Posted January 17, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted January 17, 2010 Thanks for the feedback! We picked the Jewel for our first NCL cruise b/c the itinerary and sail dates worked for us. However, we knew the Pearl had those "extras" that DS12 would like. The bowling cost was waaaay lower than I expected. :D It sounds like there is a bar/lounge close by where we can wait. Do you get a pager or something?
kriscruises Posted January 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2010 The bowling lanes are actually within the lounge area. There is lots of seating and a bar with TVs above (showing sporting events each time we were there). FYI about the rock climbing -- you will have to sign a new waiver each time your son wants to climb. They don't keep the first one on file.
